What happens next
From your first email to a confirmed week
Nothing is charged until a physician confirms your place. Roughly one application in five does not proceed, and a decline always comes with the reason in writing.
A written reply from a person
Answering what you actually asked. If your question was medical, Dr. Elena Márquez has seen it before we reply.
The application, if you want one
Medications with doses, cardiac and neurological history, and what you are hoping for. It takes most people about forty minutes.
A physician reads it properly
Not a form check. Medications are assessed individually and any taper is planned around your own prescriber’s timeline, never around a week we want to fill.
A call with your integration lead
The same person you will still be speaking to a year later. They are introduced by name before you are asked for anything.
A place on a named week
Or a decline with the reason and a referral list. $5,800 covers seven nights, four ceremonies, a single occupancy room, two acclimatisation days, the dieta kitchen, airport transfers, an optional Kambo session and twelve months of integration calls.

About getting in touch
Why is there no contact form or phone number?
Because the first thing we need from you is a medical history, and that does not belong in a five-field form or a phone conversation you are half remembering. Email gives you time to be accurate, gives us something a physician can actually read, and leaves you a written record of every answer we gave. There is also no sales call, because there is nothing to sell you over the phone that is not already published on this site.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within 48 hours, usually much sooner. We are on Peru time, UTC−5 and no daylight saving, so a message sent from Europe in the evening is typically answered the following morning here. A full application takes about two weeks to review, because a physician reads it properly rather than checking boxes.
Who actually reads my email?
A member of the retreat team, not an agency and not a chatbot. Anything containing medical information goes to Dr. Elena Márquez and your integration lead, and to nobody else. The maestros never see medical files.
Will I be added to a mailing list?
No. There is no newsletter, no drip sequence and no remarketing audience. You will hear from us once, with an answer to what you asked. If you go quiet, we assume the answer is no and leave you alone.
What should I include in a first email?
Your question, roughly when you are thinking of coming, and anything medical you already suspect might be a problem. You do not need a full medical history to write the first time, and you should not send scans or documents until we ask.
I take medication. Should I email before applying?
Yes, and it saves everyone time. MAOI medication of any kind is an absolute stop. Diagnosed schizophrenia or bipolar I, uncontrolled hypertension, epilepsy, severe liver disease, a cardiac event within twelve months and pregnancy are also disqualifying. SSRIs, SNRIs, lithium, tramadol, triptans and stimulants are reviewed individually. Send the list with doses and we will tell you where you stand before you book anything.
Will the altitude in Cusco be a problem for me?
Cusco sits at 11,150 feet, and ayahuasca already raises heart rate and blood pressure on its own. That combination is why we ask guests to arrive two days early, why oxygen saturation and blood pressure are measured on arrival and again before the first ceremony, and why nobody drinks on their first or second night in the city. If you have cardiac, respiratory or blood pressure history, email before you book flights rather than after.
Can I visit the centre before booking?
Not during a retreat week, because twelve guests in the middle of ceremony work do not need visitors. Between weeks we can sometimes arrange it, and if you are already in Cusco we will say yes where we can. Ask by email with your dates.
Do you answer in Spanish?
Yes. Write in English or Spanish and you will get a reply in the same language.
Which location should I ask about?
Ask us here and we will tell you honestly. If Cusco is wrong for your body or your calendar we will point you at the Sacred Valley, Pisac, Iquitos or Costa Rica and book you there instead. Guests for whom altitude is a genuine medical risk usually belong somewhere lower; guests who want hospitals and flights close by usually belong here.
